Curriculum

Yarnfield Curriculum

Our curriculum intent and vision is underpinned by our Trust values:

Strength through Diversity

Ambition through Challenge

Success through Endeavour

At Yarnfield, we are proud of the rich diversity of our community and we aim to provide a stimulating and engaging curriculum that develops each child as an individual, whilst creating equality for all.

Our curriculum aims to:

  • Cultivate the knowledge and skills of our pupils within a broad and balanced curriculum so that children have a wide and deep understanding of the diverse world around them.
  • Expose our pupils to an academically challenging and creative curriculum so that every pupil is able to thrive and achieve their full potential.
  • Support our pupils to become culturally knowledgeable about our community, country and our world– engendering tolerance, respect and acceptance.
  • Challenge robustly all forms of discrimination and unconscious bias by providing an inclusive curriculum that is relevant to the backgrounds of all our pupils.
  • Widen vocabulary and promote a love of reading so that pupils become articulate communicators who use subject specific language effectively.
  • Develop our pupils’ aspirations for the future and know that these can be reached through hard work, resilience and determination.
