Pupils were delighted to have a visit from Perry the mascot for the Commonwealth Games.
The children learned all about the Commonwealth and the upcoming games from a presentation led by Perry. Perry is Birmingham 2022’s official mascot, the latest Brum icon is an extra special, multi-coloured bull.
The Commonwealth Games will take place in Birmingham in July this year and they are often referred to as the Friendly Games. The games are an international multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event was first held in 1930, and, with the exception of 1942 and 1946, has taken place every four years since then.
Davinder Jandu, Principal said:
“The children really enjoyed meeting Perry and learning more about the Commonwealth Games. I know they are so proud that Birmingham is hosting the games later this year and it’s great to see they so excited about all the different sports.”
